FISU at FSB and IAKS Congress

COLOGNE - The International Trade Fair for Amenity Areas, Sports and Pool Facilities (FSB) in conjunction with the 22^nd IAKS Congress (International Association for sports and leisure facilities) took place in Cologne, Germany, from October 26^th-28^th.FISU Summer Universiade Assistant Jing Zhao and Sport Assistant Melanie Stallecker were present and attended the IAKS seminar about flexible stadium constructions.

The fair focused on the most recent innovations and trends in the sport facility sector, presenting a broad variety of sustainable technologies and event supply. Considering the often challenging financial burden correlating with the construction of new sports facilities and the potential devastating impact of erecting a white elephant, the exhibition provided an ideal platform for gaining insights into more innovative and sustainable solutions. Amongst the most prominent ones, were the installation of artificial football turfs.

On the first day, the FISU delegates took the opportunity to gather information from the booths, communicating with several turf providers such as the preferred FIFA producers Polytan STI and Greenfields B.V. or modular facility constructors such as Nussi International and Populous; hence being able to catch current trends in both areas.

With the information gained, FISU is hoping to provide their current and future event Organizers more information and better solutions for their facility management.
