Villarreal promotes its Chinese social networks |
| Villarreal CF wants to keep growing in China. For this reason the club is promoting its Chinese social network profiles, now present in five of the most important platforms: ‘Sina Weibo’, ‘Renren’, ‘Diandian’, ‘Youku’ and ‘Kaixin’. Our players will wear the name of Villarreal's Sina Weibo official account -a very strong microblogging platform (‘www.weibo.com/villarrealcf’) tomorrow during the match that will be played against FC Barcelona in El Madrigal (10 pm GMT+1).
The presentation of the jersey has taken place today in the Sports City Press Room after the first team's training session. Marcos Senna was present and sat next to Chinese star Feng Renliang, who has been training with the Yellow club during the past weeks.
Sina Weibo is one of the most extent social networks in China with around 300 million registered users in over two years of existence. It's a very strong social tool, similar to Twitter. Regarding the rest of the platforms, Renren and Kaixin are structured around communities of users similar to Facebook, Diandian is a blogging platform and Youku is the Chinese equivalent to Youtube.
Villarreal is one of the few clubs that has a Chinese version of its official website and looks forward to a growing presence in China, after arriving to an agreement with the prestigious sporting company Xtep for the next five years (with an spectacular TV ad included), visiting the country twice during last summer and playing a friendly match against Hong Kong's SC Kitchee.
In addition, Villarreal CF signed an agreement with the Dalian Wanda corporation by which the Submarine will contribute to the training of Chinese young talents, that will be sent to Spain to improve and build the future corner stone of the Chinese National team.
The club is also working closely with Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua FC and the star of the Chinese National team, Feng Renliang (who currently has more than a million followers in his personal Sina Weibo account), has been training with the Yellow club during the month of January.
The friendly match against Shanghai Shenhua is confirmed
Villarreal has confirmed the friendly match against Shanghai Shenhua that will be played on February 9th in the Sports City's Mini Stadium, starting at 11 am. It will be an open event. The Chinese club will do its preseason training in Spain thanks to the agreement with the Submarine, and young talents will be invited to participate in the next edition of the Yellow Cup. |
