National activities
The Swedish University Sports Federation (SAIF) organizes student championships in many different sports aimed at athletes at all levels. SAIF arranges courses, conferences and leadership-training programmes. SAIF offers assistance to member clubs and arranges contacts and exchanges. SAIF also protects the interests of students in the field of sport and is active in the policy field with regard to university sport.
 
International activities
SAIF takes part in World University Championships and Universiades and has itself organized World University Championships - for example WUC Floorball 2010 and WUC Orienteering 2010. SAIF also works for the introduction of new sports in the international competition programme. SAIF takes part in conferences and contributes members to international university sports bodies. SAIF also seeks to promote the values of sport-for-all, gender equality and democracy in international university sport. 
 
Aims
Sport-for-all
University sport should be so organized as to cater for all tastes and abilities so that every student can enjoy sport at her own level.
 
Equality
Equal priority shall be given to sports for women and men.
 
Democracy
University sport should adhere to the ideals of democracy and gender equality. Students shall be able to influence the development of university sport.
 
Community
University sport shall be informed by a spirit of community and enjoyment.
