SG MSSF receives State’s Highest Award ‘Polaris’

ULAANBAATAR - One of the most valuable and the highly respected Mongolian state awards is “The Polaris” and it honors Mongolians who contribute their outstanding hard work, intelligence and sincerity to the prosperity of the motherland. It is the most desirable and challenging state award honored by the President of Mongolia. Mr. Jargalsaikhan D., Secretary General of the Mongolian Student Sports Federation had the fortune of being recognized for his endeavor, strength and enthusiasm for the development of University Sports inMongolia and was appraised by H.E. President of Mongolia Elbegdorj Tsakhia, the Government and the people ofMongolia.

The Mongolian Student Sports Federation (MSSF) has been actively promoting sports among youth and it has successfully participated in the National Universiade Games for a total of 12 times, and organized the National University Sports Championships for 11 times every two years under the leadership of Mr. Jargalsaikhan since its establishment in 1989.

The Mongolian delegations in numerous World University Championships and Summer & Winter Universiades were lead by Mr. Jargalsaikhan since 1993. During this period many athletes were awarded at WUCs with total of 48 medals comprising of 18 gold, 9 silver and 21 bronze medals; and from the Summer Universiade with 6 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze medals for their distinguishing achievements in wrestling, judo, shooting, boxing and chess sports.

Mr. Jargalsaikhan has been the Assessor of the Asian University Sports Federation since 2004 and CIC Member of FISU since 2007. He also organized several WUCs inMongolia, i.e. Chess (2002), Wrestling (2006) and Boxing (2010) and the AUC Table Tennis (2008) .

‘I am very delighted to receive the State honorable award from the President and humbly appreciate the Government and the people for recognizing my spirit and dedication for the development of sport throughout many years’ dedication and achievements of our teams. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the university students, coaches, university sports organizations, and the Federation for their continuous support. Finally, I promise to work harder to accomplish more for the further development of University Sport’, said Mr. Jargalsaikhan during the Polaris award ceremony awarded by Minister of Health /charge sports/, Parliament member Mongolia Mr. S. Lambaa.
